Christmas Eve Plunge - someone bring the brandy

The Athy members of Trilogy are planning a Christmas Eve swim in, you guessed it, the Barrow. About 500m in distance, everyone is required to wear at least one wetsuit.

If you are interested, please contact John Fox or any of the Athy crew. There'll be plenty of them over at the AGM on Wednesday, and the Christmas party on Friday.

2011 Photo Calendar

Trilogy's 2011 Photo Calendar will not only feature every important date for next year, but will also boast 12 images of members in 2010 action.

You, the members, have nominated a short-list of 56 photos, which now need to be narrowed down.

Christmas Party - The final list

The spend limit is €5.00 and the challenge is to find something suitable for the person, and in keeping with the theme 'Festive Fun' - however you interpret that ;).

Calendar Nominations Closing

There have been over 80 pictures nominated for the 2011 Calendar. I will accept nominations for 24 more hours, after which nominations will close. Later this week you will be able to see all of the chosen pictures, and you will be able to pick the 12 pictures that make it to the pages of next years calendar.

AGM 2010

Just a reminder that the the AGM is taling place in the Heritage Hotel on Wed 1st December at 8pm. All members welcome, especially all our new members.

Christmas Party

Trilogy's Christmas Bash takes place this year in O'Loughlins (Main Street, Portlaoise). Making the perfect antidote to the cold winter, and the perfect start to the festive season, the big night this year happens on Friday 3 December (8:30pm).

We would like all members to attend, and to bring their ever-patient, endlessly understanding and long suffering wives, husbands and partners. We would especially like to see our new members over the last few weeks join us.

Like in previous years, there will be a Kris Kindle element to the night, along with a few more surprises. Tickets are just €15.00 which includes a hot meal buffet and dessert, plus the entertainment of a band later that night.

Tickets are strictly pre-booked only and for the Kris Kindle to work, you will need to pre-book by Tuesday 23 November at the latest (tickets will not be sold after this date).

Shortly after 23 November everyone will receive a text with details of who their kris kindle is, and the idea is you spend euro;5.00 on (ahem) 'something sincere' (I often reflect on the sincerity bundled up in the Reindeer thong and the purple sequined beret I received in the last 2 years).

Swimming Now Full

Please note that there are now 50 people signed up for swimmming, and so places are being suspended for a few weeks to see how things go with the numbers booked up so far.

Spinning still has about 8 places left for each session on Tuesday. Book yours before these fill up by logging in, cost €50.00 for all sessions to the end of April 2011.

Trilogy Calendar 2011?

2 years ago, at the end of 2008, there was a wall calendar produced by the club. Featuring 12 snappy shots of Trilogy members, it also had all the important dates marked on it for 2009, dates like the Test Tris days, the dates of races the club were going to, some of the seocial events, even the AGM.

A couple of members have asked if we are planning to resurrect this for the 2011 season. This would depend on demand, as there is a bit of work and expense involved, it makes sense if we have say 40 or more members interested.

So here is your chance to have a say.

Would you like to see a 2011 Trilogy Calendar? If there is enough support, I will be back to look for photo nominations and votes from all members.

The calendar would be ready around the end of 2010, after our AGM when all the dates are decided. It is looking like the cost of the calendar would be between €6 and €8, the lower price is for higher quantities (these are cost price estimates, and we'd be selling at cost price to members).

If anyone would like to organise the calendar (with my help), I'd love for you to drop me a mail.

Winter Training

Please remember that you must be pre-registered and paid up to come along to the Spinning (Tuesday) and Swimming (Thursday) sessions. As of now, there are about 12 places left for swimming, and about 20 places left for spinning. A list of paid-up members will be on this website before the classes tomorrow and Thursday.

All other sessions, like tonights coached run are free to attend (though you must be a member of the club, and be a member of TI for insurance reasons).
