Top of the Range Bike - Quick Sale

Top-of-the range bike available now for sale at Trilogy Shop (see link below).

Willie is parting company with his beloved Planet-X Stealth Full Carbon, complete with dura-ace componenents and carbon wheels. Size Medium, well serviced, only used for racing. Approx 400km on the clock.

Genuine Reason for Sale - Owner retiring from the sport (as you may have heard, Willie has regrettably decided to give up triathlon - as he said himself said 'Theres more to life than just prancing around town in lycra swimsuits with padding').

You'd be looking at €4,000+ for this bike if you bought new - Willie is looking for just €1,200 or nearest offer. He'll also throw in his trusty Trek (in need of a wash but otherwise good) for a quick sale.

See more pictures and full spec here.

Or just text Willie.

Good News! Racing for Ireland Confirmation

I have just had word from Triathlon Ireland that the following Trilogy Triathletes will be selected to race for Ireland in Lisbon:

Sinead Wearen, Brian Bonham, Trish Nicholls, Stephen O'Toole, Willie Fitzpatrick, Finn Ryan, Mick Farrell, Sharon White, Karl McCann and Deirdre Ryan.

Please note that both racers and supporters need to pay the final instalment for the trip of €200.00 as soon as possible. Also, anyone racing will need to pay a race fee directly to Triathlon Ireland closer to the race. Triathlon Ireland are waiting on the European Triathlon Union (Organiser of the race) to confirm this fee to them.

You should budget around €100 for this, and TI will e-mail you direct for payment.

Six weeks time we're on that flight - Viva Trilogy!

The Latest on the Gear

I realise everyone is waiting on new gear, but you wouldn't believe the heartache it is causing me! The latest is that a package arrived during the week. In it were poorly finished tri-suits which have to be returned. Not in it were all the Winter Jackets.

So, I spoke with the company this morning and they are re-sending new tri-suits as soon as they are made. They are also looking into the Jackets which they think is still in the post and should be with us any day.

The upshot is I hope to have everything for everyone in time for our first test tri April 5.

In a few days time anyone who has paid money for gear will get a text asking what you are waiting for. I would appreciate if you could answer this clearly for me. When everyone who has paid is looked after I will then start on the orders placed at the AGM. Finally, I will then update everyone on what is available for sale from then on.

Hope this makes some sense!

Back to the Heath

Willie is planning a transition / brick session on the Heath on this Sunday morning at 11:30. It will be just like the Heath training during the summer – so short cycles, short runs and repeats. There will also be a little bit of transition training – i.e. how to mount your bike in one piece at pace. Great session for beginners and for anyone bored of a bank holiday weekend. This session may be repeated on Easter Sunday if there is interest this weekend.

Trilogy On the Late Late Show?

Well, maybe. Just keep an eye out for Willie in the audience tonight. And yes, he’s wearing Trilogy’s Winter cycle jacket.

Finally - The New Gear is on its way

Good news! After a long delay and some heated exchanges, I finally have confirmation that the second order of gear is on its way to us. I have just checked a tracking order and it looks like they could be in the UK over the weekend. With the short week next week, and allowing for customs clearing, I am hoping to be able to give this stuff out over Easter.

Aplogies for the delay - if the company we get it from was as good at customer relations as they are at making gear, we'd have had this stuff 8 weeks ago. But I suppose its better this way than quickly delivered low quality gear!

TriAthy II Launch

TriAthy 2008 launches tomorrow, 12 March in Athy. This race looks set to be the largest in Ireland this year, and Trilogy are co-organisers. I know a mid-week launch is not easy with work, etc, but I would like to see as many people from Trilogy there as possible. There will be a photoshoot from 4pm to about 5pm - please come along in Trilogy clothing, followed later that evening by a presentation to sponsors, local businesses, residents and triathletes.

I would be grateful if you could make it to either part of the launch - Belpark are expecting 5-6 members from Dublin, I am keen to at least match this.

Dunmore East - The Registered TriAthletes

Dunmore East Sprint Opened last Monday, and the following (23) people have now been registered.

Alan Phelan, Alison Wellwood, Dave Slattery, Dermot O'Leary, Eimear Mathews, Emer McCarthy, Finn Ryan, Karen O'Grady, Karl McCann, Kevin Conroy, Louise Mooney, Maeve Bracken, Mark O'Sullivan, Mick Farrell, Miriam Geaney, Niall Kavanagh, Nick Grainge, Noel Territt, Pawel Debakowski, Peter Travers, Sinead Wearen, Taco Camphuijsen, Willie Fitzpatrick.

Another Duathlon, Another Win!

News hitting the Trilogy Desk this morning suggests that new members Eimear Mathews from Portarlington stormed home in Punchestown this weekend to claim the vet 1st prize at Wheelworx Duathlon - the same prize won last month by Trish Nicholls.

More results and photos to follow - for now - Well Done Eimear!!

Dunmore East Opening

Dunmore East, Hook or by Crook triathlon is a firm favourite with Trilogy over the last few years. The sprint distance race takes place near Tramore and is considered novice-friendly as it takes place in a very calm bay - a perfect first sea-swim. And all within driving distance (apx 90mins away).
If you want to take part in this event, then please text Karl before 6pm Sunday.

Saturday Cycle

The Cycle on Saturday is moving to 10:30 this week to allow you to reflect for an extra 90 minutes in bed just how good a night Friday was (the Square Meal). Ask you to get up at 8am the day after? We just couldn't do it!

Changes to Training

The ESD session has been cancelled. This is due to low attendance. A refund will apply to members who paid for the classes to the end of April. This refund will initially be paid to your Trilogy Account (used for race fees or Trilogy Gear). If you prefer you will also be able to get cash back.

I will be in touch over the coming days by text to each person - the value of the refund will vary by person and the package they were on.

Finally, Bobby will be a way for a few weeks but will be sending us programmes to work on in the pool. The Wednesday Swim session will therefore continue as planned.

Meal Now Full

56 People are down for the meal, so we are now closing the reservation. If you can’t make it to the meal but want to join us afterwards, post-dinner drinks will be in the Outback (Delaneys), where we have a section booked off. We should be there from 10:30 or so.

The Cycle on Saturday will take place either at 10:30 on Saturday, or 9:30 on Sunday – the decision will be made by a show of hands – at Spinning tonight (we did briefly consider doing it in the Outback, but decided against!).

Monday, 3 March 2008

Pay for your racing now - at Trilogy Shop

There is now a link in the shop for paying any amount to us for your races. We ask that anyone considering racing 5 races to lodge at least €200, and adjust this if you already know the cost of races - for example, Groomsport alone is €85.

We need this money quite quickly - all races are now opening and the demands on the Trilogy Credit Card are very heavy.

Thank you!

The Forgotten Relay Racers

With all this talk of race entry, it is easy to forget that triathlon can also be a team sport. If anyone is not already registered for North Tipp or Limerick would like to form a team, please contact Karl ASAP. North Tipp allow teams of 2 or 3, teams for Limerick must be 3 people. Relay events give you a great sense of what triathlon is all about.
