Final Test Tri Results (Delayed)

Due to some technical issues (Like Karl being on holiday) the results of Saterday's Test Tri will not be up for another few days.
BUT suffice it to say , that the Tri itself was a great success with some old revalries being renewed and some new one formed.
From memory Trish won the ladies race and Pavel won the mens.
There was a good showing of juniors on the day and they all seemed to enjoy the race with some good times being set. Unfortunately I don't have the junoir results to hand but will put them up as soon as I get them.
Finally the handicap race was won by Johnny Fox due to his great cycle.
Keep watching this space for an update.

Help on Saturday

If you are not racing on Saturday's Test Tri, give helping out a go. Marita is taking on the challenge of organising the event, and so far she has three helpers (and over 20 entrants). Another two or three helpers would really make a huge difference.

Groomsport - Race Report & Photos

Apologies for the delay in posting the report and photos for Groomsport. My excuse is that the Half Ireman distance is about six times longer than a test tri, and so it took six times longer to come up with the report and photos!

But seriously, these are worth the wait. Keep one eye out for a priceless picture of Trish - almost making the front page with this one, and a hot contender for November on the 2009 calendar! Well done to Trish and Stephen O'Toole who started the season as they started it - with a pair of AG podiums - Trish second, Stephen thrid.

The Marshalls clear up in Blacksod

There we all were on Monday night, counting up the AG Podiums from 2008 and setting goals for AG podiums in 2009. And while we were at that, Cornelius and Maire Marshall were celebrating the latest AG podiums for Trilogy - Cornelius winning his AG, having the second-fastest run split and finishing Blacksod Olympic race in Belmullet in a time of 2:35:26 (25th), Maire finishing in 2:55:39 and taking 3rd in her age group.

Well done!!

Wiggle comes up trumps

We have done it again.
We have just received our 2nd club rebate from Wiggle.
That's now a total rebate of €340.
So folks, keep up the good work and keep buying from Wiggle.
Just follow the Wiggle link on our Member Benefits page.

Website - Maintentance

The company that host our website are moving it to a new server. That means two things - when it moves, the site should be faster, we will have more space, and all members will be able to get a 'trilogy.ie' webaddress (if you want one).

It also means that the website may be down over the weekend (as it was this morning).

Winter Training

With one more competitive race, one more test duathlon and one more test triathlon, season 2008 is coming to a close. In spite of the rough weather and testing conditions, the year has been a very successful one again for Trilogy. We got the weather right for TriAthy, put on a great show for 1200 athletes. We achieved a lot in competition with countless AG wins and on the National Series. We introduced a dozen or more new members to the great sport that is triathlon. And we have set up the most active Junior club in the country.

Summer training will finish up shortly, and there will follow a six-week break from training. The idea here is to rest, recuperate and recharge your bodies. Take the time to try out other activities, or just to rest. The club will have a couple of meetings, and a couple of social ocassions, so we will all still be in touch.

At the moment, the committee have asked me to work on a new Winter Training plan, which I am busy doing. There is lots of exciting new components to this years plan, but I need to check with a few people before announcing them. This years training will be very focussed on success in 2008 - whether your idea of success is winning races, beating PBs or just finishing your first tri, the new training plan will have something for you.

So enjoy the rest of your training and watch this space for more news.

In the mean time, if anyone can recommend a good swimming coach (note: coach, not instructor), please contact Karl with the details.

TriAthy Funds

Well folks, the good news .... is that the funds have been received from TriAthy.

They are WELL ABOVE expectation and will put OUR club on a great footing to develop over the next few seasons.

WELL DONE! to all those who put in such a great effort to help out on the day and especially our thanks to those few who put in such a mammoth effort in the lead up and the days after the event.

Thanks again to all.

Duathlon 6 date and time

This weekend brings the final duathlon of 2008. We are holding this one on a Sunday to allow our junior members the chance to try the course out this year - I have no doubt that they'll return in 2009 to beat us at it too!,

So we meet at 9.45 on Sunday and hope to be all done by 11. Juniors will complete 2 laps of the bike, and new members are welcome.
