AGM 2010

Guys,

We are holding this years AGM on Wednesday 1st December, in the Heritage Hotel at 8pm. We encourage all members to attend (new and old), as the committee have some ideas to help improve the club.

Here is a copy of the constitution, so all members can be aware of what Trilogy does legally, and any sugested changes need to be agreed at the AGM.

Also, if any member requires anything specific to be brought up, please email me no later than 14 days before it, and I will include it in the agenda.

Regs,

Roy.

Two Long Distance Reports

Two new race reports for you, both of which end with crossing a marathon finish line. One of the reports is about a man who starts a 16-week training plan with 6 weeks to go, and decides to make the first week a rest week; the other is a man who doesn't even start the race until he has the best park of 4km swim and 180km on the bike done first.

Enjoy them both:

The clubs newest Marathon Man

Continuing on his quest to achieve great things in capital cities (first Budapest, now Dublin), Dave Osborne completed his first marathon today in a seriously brilliant time of 3:24. Now from what I remember of TriAthy this year, Dave's office is an upstairs one. Best of luck with the next challenge, Dave - getting up them tomorrow!!

Winter Training is Here!

The Committee of Trilogy Triathlon is pleased to announce the new Winter Training programme for 2010/2011.

We are delighted to be bringing back the same popular sessions as in 2010, with all again sessions coach-led, along with a new mid week run session.

This year the club is in the fortunate position of being able to subsidise the Winter Programme heavily. The club will be meeting all costs of coaching, while also subsidising the costs of facility rental (track, pool and cycling studio costs).

The cost is just €100 for 22 weeks of training - less than €5 a week.

The net effect of all this is that you will be able to train with the aid of a coach for just over €2.00 per swim or spin session. As well as that, the run and outdoor cycle sessions are entirely free - all we ask is that you are a signed-up member of the club, and that you have TI membership for insurance purposes.

To take part in the swimming and spinning sessions you do need to pre-subscribe. You do this in the Members area by paying a subscription of €50 per session upfront, or over 5 months at €11 instalment per month. A list of paid up members will be available on trilogy.ie and will be monitored by the coach at each session. If you attend a session and are not signed up, the club will charge you €8.00 per session.

Please see the following links:

1. Details of the full training programme, including training times and the weekly schedule (Full details).
2. Log-in area where you can go to pre-subscribe for swimming and spinning (Log in as member of Trilogy)
3. Sign-up area - for compeltely new members (welcome along!). If you are not a member of the club, you need to go here before pre-subscribing as above.(Sign Up as New Member)

We need your feedback

Roy is away from the laptop today, so he asked me to put this message up on his behalf.

The committee is trying to plan the Winter Training sessions, and some feedback from members in relation to spinning has prompted a re-think.

Money is tight, and so the club is proposing to heavily subsidise all Winter Training this year (the club has always subsidised training, the idea is to put a bit more into the pot from the funds raised by TriAthy). In other words, the cost of swimming and spinning will cost members substantially less than last year.

However, all the above is dependent on there being a high interest in the
training, this is not about subsidising a small group of people, it is about
making the training accessible to everyone in the club who wants it.

So, we ask you to complete the following survey - if you did already complete
the spinning one, we would be grateful if you could complete the full survey
with our apologies for making you do it twice!

What's that knocking sound?

Two universal truths I think we can all agree about bikes.

1. There is nothing sweeter than when it all runs smooth.
2. Maintenance is a pain in the saddle if you don't know what you are at.

Just a little plug then for a great local service. Many of us in the club have been dropping the bike out to Murt's house, where he fixes, fine tunes and generally gets your bike sweet again. You could need a repair, something replaced, or just want to see the back of that niggling little knock everytime you take the bike out. And with Winter coming up, its never a bad idea to get the once-over.

Check out the poster below, and give Murt a call. He'll be delighted to help.

Winter Training

Guys,

We have an option on 2 hours in the Killenard this year for spinning. We have from 7-9pm on a Tuesday evening. We need to know which time is preferable. Could you please complete the survey here.
If we get enough people for each session, we will do both.

The cost will be dependant on the number of people who will do it.

Please do not fill it out if you do not want to do it, and we need all responses in by 7pm on Sunday evening.

Also, swimming is on at the same time, 9-10pm on a Thursday and will cost the same, €100.

More updates to follow.

Roy.
