REMINDER - Race Entries

IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR ANYONE REGISTERED FOR JOEY, HELL OF THE WEST OR DUNMORE EAST

Guys,

As you have probably read, we have had some problems with race entries lately. Triathlon Ireland have a new system and we cant do entries like we used to. Specifically, we know we have problems with Joey Hannon and Hell of the West, with more races possibly using this system.
Therefore we need all members to update their profiles on the Trilogy website with 3 more bits of info. We need Country of Origin, Triathlon Ireland username and password. We need these so we can logon as you and get you entered successfully. It is also your responsibility to ensure that the login works, as we do not have time check each one first.
Joey opens again on Monday evening, so those who were not entered first time, must have their details updated by lunch time on Monday.

Any problems, please contact me.

Roy.

Race Entry Service for - Hook or By Crook Sprint Triathlon now OPEN

Takes place in Dunmore East Co. Waterford on Sat 18th Jun 2011 and is a national series race.
This sprint triathlon has been a firm favourite of the club for the last number of years, normally taking place in glorious sunshine (except one year)and has been great day out.
The Swim is a sheltered 750m sea swim, which is a good intruduction for first time open water swimmers. The cycle 20km, out & back course, is undulating but with a nice hill at the start and finish. The run a 7km loop has a testing hill at the start but a nice 2km downhill finish.

If you are interested in this race and would like the club to register you, please use the club race entry service (Link Below), before 24th Feb and select this race from the menu.

WANTED: Test Series Results Secretary

The Test Duathlon Series kicks off next month, and the Test Tri series starts in early April. A big part of these events is the results service for each event and over both series.

Having done both series for the first 5 years I am now hoping to find a couple of volunteers to take this task in 2011. The role involves collecting and inputting times from the timing system, compiling the results and publishing them to the website. You would require some understanding of Excel, though full training is going to be provided (with a detailed, written instruction manual).

The role would allow you to race, but might also appeal to members or partners of spouses not interested in racing.

I hope that 2 people will come forward, one for each series and support and cover for the other.

Technical Official Training Course - Saturday

Details have been announced for the TI Training Course this Saturday in Dublin. The course will run from 10:45 until 4:30 at Jury's Inn, Custom House Quay (see more here).

Anyone attending needs to bring printed material for the course. Willie is making copies of these documents - if you want a copy or can't print your own please contact Willie or Karl.

New Texting Service

Hi,
We have moved to a new texting platform. If you require access to this service, in order to send messages to the club in relation to training or other events, then let me know.

Groomsport - Closing Soon on Race Entry Service

In addition to North Tipp Sprint, the club also needs interested members to sign-up to Groomsport Half Ireman before 9 February. Both of these races are opening in the next few days, and we want to get you entered when they do.

Groomsport is one of the country's best Middle Distance event (1.9km swim, 93km bike and 21km run), and is this years Championship event. While taking place a little earlier (August ), there is still loads of time to prepare for it.
