Conor Walshe writes from Vancouver!
Hi!
Just said I'd drop a quick hello mail to see how everyone is and how the plans are coming along for Xmas parties and other festivity celebrations.
Life is good over here in Vancouver. Have been up to Whistler the last two weekends for a day each so was a good laugh. The snowboarding was savage craic. It was snowing most the day Sat and Sunday so we were getting fresh snow as we were crusing downt he mountains. It even snowed down in the City in Vancouver last weekend which was strange I was told. The city was covered in a layer off snow making driving fun. Our trip home from whistler which is about 111km took us 6 hours last night so was entertaining to say the least!
We are living right on the Bay here so get to go for runs from our appartment along the bay around Stanley park. Its a really enjoyable run. There is loads to do over here and we are only scratching the surface with the stuff we are doing. There is an aquatic centre with 50m pool just a block and ahalf away from us. There just seems to be a load of amenities in really close proximity to us so we are never bored. Loads of really cool bars and restaurants as well with in walking distance of us.
I'm currently doing a bit of "landscaping" or in other words leaf clean up! I get to drive a big GMC pick up and rake up leaf's and haul them away! Great craic in the current weather but its pretty much finished now as all leaf's out of the trees. The lads who own the place are sound out though and give you time off whenever I want which is cool.
Got to see Beckham and the La Galaxies play as well up here in Vancouver. 49000 people went to the game and I'd say 48000 people were there specifically to see beckham. A cheer went up everytime he touched the ball not that he done anything with it. The most exciting part of the game was the streaker who got a full lap of the pitch done before anyone made an effort to remove him.
I will be storing my pics online so everyone can have a look at this link to see them.
So Happy Christmas to all at Trilogy - I'll be back in touch in the new year!
Let me know how you all are and if I missing anything
